Working with builders - an interview with Kevin Tabrizi
One of the perks of being a stylist is being entrusted to stage a new build. I’m always aware that I’ve been bought in at the end of a project and that the staging is just the finishing touch to a lot of hard work and decision making that precedes it.
A builder that I love working with is Tabrizi Home Builders. Kevin Tabrizi leads the team at Tabrizi. I asked him some questions about his business and the role that staging has in his builds.

Q: Tell me a little about the Tabrizi Home Builders story
We are the third generation of Tabrizi builders – the second generation in Australia. I was trained as a builder onsite by my father and growing up in the family business I’ve had the benefit of exposure and training within all aspects of the building industry. This extended to helping various trades onsite, to business operational responsibilities, liaising with consultants, local government bodies and most importantly – looking after our clients.
Perfectionism is a strong Tabrizi trait - you’ll see it on our worksites, you’ll see it in our client service, and most crucially; you’ll see it in your home.

Q. What’s the Tabrizi Home Builders difference?
We specialise in boutique, high-quality customised design and construction, building for each individual family’s unique needs, which means you won’t see your home anywhere else. Our core building team has been with us for more than 15 years – we’re passionate and proud of what we do – from the business management team through to onsite trades. Our tradespeople are incredibly experienced and knowledgeable craftsmen, who take immense pride in their work.

Q: What’s special about building in Brisbane?
The unique environmental contrast. Leafy backyards, parklands, forests, nature reserves everywhere, river frontage and access - all within 10 kilometres of urban infrastructure. We really are spoilt here.

Q: What’s important to you about the work you are doing?
Best practice building. We take on limited building projects per year to ensure absolute best practice. It is a significant responsibility to share in the design and construction of someone’s most valuable and personal asset, and hugely gratifying when we hand over the keys knowing that our client now has a home perfect for their family – both in suitability and quality.

Q: For the houses that you build to sell, you always recommend property styling. What are your reasons?
We wish to present the home in its ‘Sunday best’, highlighting its functionality and design.

Q: You have worked with Home Staging Brisbane on 3 houses so far. What keeps you coming back?
Your professionalism, creativity, passion and enthusiasm for design, the quality pieces, and your flexibility and direction.
